We can never tell
The future looking
From the wrong side in.
We can never tell time
Easily
Till we’re looking at it
With both eyes.
We keep counting
Days and years yet
No one knows the end.
Why live a lie
When you can live a life
Well worth your while?
We’re curtains and lights,
We all go out,
Best to do it
To the sound of applause
And tears of joy,
That’s a life well lived.
