WHO HAS SEEN FOOT SOLDIER LAW?

PICTURE OF A FOOT SOLDIER

Where is rule of law?
When did we agree bend the law?
Why is my nation under siege?
Are we at war?
I can’t help but ask,
I hear foot soldiers on the ground

Foot soldiers
Foot soldiers
Who are these noisy
Crude and brutish wailers?
A hungry bunch of lawbreakers
Motivated only by selfish gain.
Just a cacophonous bunch looking
To score free bread again.

When did we subscribe to foot soldier law?
When did foot soldiers become Ghanaian law?
When did we agree to foot soldier governance?
What is foot soldier law anyway?
Are foot soldiers a basic tenet of Ghanaian law?

Nowadays, thugs and miscreants
Walk the streets in the broad of day
Beating chests for all to give way.
They’ve become law, untouchable
We now do things the foot soldier’s way.

What’s the point of elections anyway?
Just wasting time in long queues
Soiling our fingers with cancerous inks,
Leaving thumb prints on so called ballot papers.

Save the trees,
Spare the ballot papers,
When the last tree dies,
So shall the last man too.
Forgotten so soon paper comes from trees?
Save the trees, to hell with democracy.

Away with your cancerous indelible inks,
Ballot boxes
And election observers,
It will amount to nothing anyway,
The foot soldiers will always be law.

Out with democracy,
Bury rule of law,
To hell with human rights,
Only the weak clamour for justice

Let’s go back to the law of the jungle
Eat or be eaten
Kill or be killed,
Survival of the fittest
Better gird your loins.

I lay before you the tenets of foot soldier law
Muscle and brawn
Smash and grab,
Slash and burn
Act on impulse
Show no remorse
Subscribe to impunity.
No sense of tomorrow,
We live for today,
Intellect is the coward’s cover,
Brute force is power
We enjoy being puppets,
We only dance to the master’s strings.

Welcome to the breakdown of law
The overthrow of commonsense
And era of those living above the law
These are the foot soldier days
Better saddle up and keep abreast with foot soldier law
Welcome to a nation governed by foot soldier law.

  1. A nation governed by the later will not make a headway. Let's try to practise what has made the developed countries what they are today. Sadly, we refuse to learn or do what they did.

  3. well said bro but let me play the Devil's advocate and let u see thru the eyes of the foot soldier. For 8 yrs they had felt oppressed by proud government officials and they patiently bid their time, Hoping that when the new government comes, they'll sack all of them and replace them with their cronies. Sadly, the new government does come but decides to be diplomatic and allows some of the past officials to remain in power.Cue the rise of the foot soldier. They just can't stand the continuing taunts that will surely come from officials that remain in power. Remember, somewhere behind the scenes is a former president who keeps preaching positive defiance. Can we really blame them?

  4. Saint, we can and we should blame them for as long as there is rule of law. nothing justifies such impunity. we might as well go by the decree of the law of the jungle, kill or be killed. if we all decide to seek redress this way, absolute chaos and anarchy will be the end result bro. trust me, we all have our grievances but taking the law into our own hands is never the way forward. one needs 50% + 1 votes in order to win a preseidential election in gh, i doubt all of those who make up that number are happy with present state of affairs.thay all did vote for a particular candidate..if they should all become laws in their own way......chaos will be the end result....
