EMPTY SEATS

Buildings cascaded to an aria
Of dust and burning human flesh.

Smoke and blood
Tickled the innocent skies pale white.

A world on an excursion
In the underbelly of the beast.

People broken
And beyond repair

Others lost in the
Din of poignant silence.

Dreams haunted
Nightmares catatonic with fear.

Never quite left
Things the way he met them.

Forever the farmer,
Cultivated pain on human lives.

Left empty seats at dinner
Tables the world over.

But morning brought
Embittered a hint of closure.

One day, the world woke to
News of the death of Osama.
