BORROWED TIME

BORROWED TIME

We were all born capable of doing all
But in order that all move forward one must lead all
But in moving forward all must stand tall
Even in falling all must refuse fall
There’s nothing glorious in a fall
No one man is the solution to all
No one person bears knowledge for all
Collectively we bear bits of knowledge for all
So heed the clarion call
And pitch in all
We may rise and fall
Even sometimes crawl
But there’s always enough space in history for us all

Enough of your greed and power plays
Rather accept that some day
You’ll come second in a play
Enough of your wild forays and foolish ways
For forays are only brief inter-plays
And foolish ways are only the fool’s way.
Strive for something better that holds sway
Even in uncertain days
It refuses make way
Something that lights and colours our way
Something that even in darkness shows the way
United hearts and hands let this light our way
For in our differing ways and power-plays
We lose sight of our common way
We’ll all depart this world some day.

This life is just borrowed time
We’ll all move out come our time
So please make the best of your time
Please stop drowning us in your grime and slime
Here’s your time
Make it worth our time
Hurry brothers, do not tarry in time
We’re all just ticking on borrowed time
This life of ours is just borrowed time
Soon enough, we’ll all be lost in time.
